3.      ULML does not race to the starting line under a yellow flag. Cars must immediately, upon display of the yellow flag or light at any point on the race track, reduce their speed and move to a safe position on the race track. Cars will return to positions held on the last completed green flag lap.

TOP THREE (3) FINISHERS

The top three (3) finishers in the Feature Event must present their car to the designated tech area immediately after the race, before returning to their pit, for final inspection. Additional cars may be subject to post race inspections at the discretion of the ULML President. If additional cars will be subject to post race inspection, the ULML President will notify the drivers as to how many cars will be inspected prior to starting the race. Failure to report to the tech area immediately after the race may result in penalties and/or disciplinary action at the discretion of the ULML President.

PRIZE MONEY
  1. The ULML President will determine the schedule for prize money distribution.

  2. Prize money checks will be mailed to the Car Owner unless written instructions have been provided to the ULML President.

REPLACEMENT DRIVERS

1.      Any driver not qualifying a car for the event must have permission from the ULML President and/or race track officials to replace a driver who has qualified the car for the event.

2.      Replacement must take place prior to the dropping of the green flag. Once a race has started, NO replacement of drivers will be permitted.

3.      The replacement driver will be placed at the rear of the field.

CAUTION FLAG LAPS

Caution flag laps may or may not count as completed laps. Every effort will be made to end a race on green flag race conditions. These conditions will be covered in both the ULML drivers meeting and the host race track drivers meeting.

ULML

SECTION III: General Policies & Procedures

OFFICIAL DECISIONS AND PROTESTS

1.      All decisions of the ULML and host track officials will be final. Track officials shall not be approached with requests or protests by any ULML member other than by a designated Intermountain Pro 4 official.

2.      ULML officials, including Technical & Safety Officials, and all host track officials are to be treated with courtesy and respect at all times.

3.      The “Top Three (3) Finishers” in the Feature Event must present their car to the tech area immediately after the race, before returning to their pit, for final inspection. Failure to do so will result in an automatic $50.00 fine, plus any other fines and/or penalties that may be assessed by ULML Officials. Additional cars may be subject to post race inspections at the discretion of the ULML Officials.

4.      A protest is a very serious action and should be considered very carefully.

5.      Protests may be submitted by a car owner only, who must also be a current ULML member.

6.      Before the ULML Officials will act upon a protest, the protesting car owner must provide sufficient reason, in writing, the basis for the protest against another ULML competitor.

7.      A minimum protest fee of $150.00, payable in cash, must accompany all protests. If the protest will require disassembly of a component of the race car under protest, the minimum protest fee will be adjusted upward to compensate the owner of the car under protest for his time to disassemble and reassemble the component in the event the protest is ruled to be invalid.

8.      All protests must be made within fifteen (15) minutes after the finishing order of the event has been posted.

9.      If the protest is found to be valid, the protest fee will be returned to the protestant. However, if the protest is found to be invalid, the owner of the car that the protest was lodged against will receive the protest fee.

10.  Any protest action will result in a considerable delay before the posted race results can be considered official.

SPORTSMANSHIP

1.      The ULML racing organization takes considerable pride in the high level of sportsmanship displayed by its members. ANYONE who conducts himself or herself in a manner unbecoming to the ULML, either on or off the racetrack, will be dealt with at the discretion of the ULML President whose action may result in the levy of fine and/or suspension of racing privileges, or both.

2.      Fighting or abusive behavior will not be tolerated.

3.      Abuse of any ULML or host track official and/or the use of improper language at any time, on or off the racetrack is strictly prohibited.

4.      No acts of aggression directed towards another car or driver, on or off the racetrack will be tolerated.

5.      If an incident occurs on the racetrack that a driver takes issue with, the driver (and only the driver) is to file a complaint with an ULML official within thirty (30) minutes of the end of the race. The only exception is in the event of injury to the driver, in which case either the crew chief or car owner may speak on behalf of the injured driver. This places responsibility for the behavior and subsequent action on the drivers involved. If the incident is not brought to the attention of the ULML official within thirty (30) minutes of the end of the race, it will be assumed the drivers involved accept the incident as a racing incident and chances are no action will be taken. However, The ULML President has the right to take action if an incident is, in his opinion, deliberate or detrimental to driver safety and/or to the image or the survival of the organization. Every effort will be made to gather pertinent information and render a decision prior to leaving the racetrack.

6.      All car owners will be held responsible for the conduct of their drivers, crew members, and visitors in the pit area.

ELIGIBILITY FOR ULML ROOKIE STATUS

To be eligible for “Rookie” status and compete for “Rookie of the Year”, a driver must submit an application of Rookie Status form and a racing resume, and meet the following qualifications:

1.      A driver who will be competing for the first time as a professional driver with no racing experience, or,

2.      A driver who has no previous experience in a Pro 4 division with any organization, or,

3.      A driver who has participated in no more than five (5) events with the ULML organization or with any Pro 4 racing organization. A driver with less than five (5) events on one season may apply for Rookie status the following season. However, eligibility for Rookie status will expire after the second season, regardless of the number of events previously run.

CHAMPIONSHIP POINTS

1.      ULML Championship Points will be awarded to ULML drivers with a currently registered car.

2.      Membership dues and any previously assessed fines and/or penalties must be paid prior to an event in order to receive points for the event. No exceptions.

3.      Points will be awarded for competing in Time Trials (Qualifying), Heat Races, Semi (B) Main, and Feature Main Event Races according to the ULML Schedule of Points Allocation. Points will only be awarded for racing events actually run.

4.      If an ULML driver arrives at the track with a car which subsequently becomes unraceable, preventing the driver from qualifying and racing, the driver will earn UTR (Unable To Race) points for the event. This allowance acknowledges the driver’s attempt to participate in as many ULML events as possible.  The allowance will be 75% of the points earned by last place feature event participant for the pan.

5.      If an ULML driver is able to compete in Qualifying, Trophy Dash, and Heat Race events, but is unable to start the Feature Event due to mechanical difficulties, the driver will be awarded all points earned plus an additional 75% of the last place feature event participant.

6.      If an ULML driver is able to start the Feature Event, takes the green flag and then leaves the track due to racecar failure, the following applies to that driver. The first driver to leave the track will be awarded last place points for the event. Subsequent drivers that leave the race will finish one position above the driver that left before their exit from the race and will be awarded event points accordingly.
